School Description: Foothills
Elementary School is a comprehensive neighborhood school celebrating
21 years of academic excellence. Situated in a park in the shadow
of Pikes Peak, Foothills is an anchor for its highly involved
community.
Foothills provides a challenging academic environment that
places strong emphasis on the basics of reading, writing, spelling,
math, socials studies and science. Foothills students also have
course work in hands-on/minds-on science, conversational Spanish,
technology, music and movement, health and fitness and visual
arts.
Foothills' staff members believe in a balanced approach, developing
academic results, individual responsibility, and respect
for others. Foothills Elementary School was the recipient of
the 2000 Community of Kindness Award for its Hands Across the
City Clay Tile project
